About Us

Mission

The SPOT Centre is a NDIS accredited clinic offering multi-disciplinary therapeutic services for children and young people.

We offer speech pathology, psychology and occupational therapy and aim to work with young people, their families and support networks using a holistic, neurodiversity affirming and strength-based approach.

Our practise is based on collaboration and relational safety.

Values

Listen

We listen to Neurodivergent voices and recognise them to be the true authority and experts in the field. We use evidence-based approaches and seek to continuously evaluate and improve our practise by seeking feedback from the people we serve and their community.

Respect

We respect the uniqueness and strengths of all people.  We do not condone any practise that treats neurodivergent people as possessing deficits which need to be cured, solved, or fixed.  Instead, we  acknowledge and aim to address current societal and environmental barriers and challenges that neurodivergent people face.

Community

We are a hub for children, young people, families, team members and the wider community. At SPOT, we want all who come through our doors to find a sense of belonging, acceptance and understanding. We also endeavour to support our community by sharing our knowledge and expertise with schools, support networks and the wider community.

Learning

We are committed to learning and listening, to continually evolve our practice to reflect best practise and to provide an evidence based, individualised, multiple stream approach for children and their families/guardians/carers in a supportive community environment.  We are open to changing and updating our practice, beliefs, and support offerings as we grow as individual practitioners and as a service.

Collaboration

Working together we aim to empower our clients to recognise their strengths and abilities and to achieve their own identified goals. We recognise that parents/guardians/carers are important advocates for their loved ones, we hope to walk beside them and support the important work they do.
