Speech Pathology

Our speech pathologists help children with delayed speech and language and build communication, social and literacy skills.

We use a variety of proven strategies to help a child's speech and language and can support your child in:

  • Gestalt Language Processing (GLP),

  • AAC

  • speech sound disorders,

  • preschool and school-aged language.

  • stuttering of all ages (preschool, school aged and adults),

  • orofacial myology

  • putting together words in a sentence that make sense

  • understanding the meaning of more words and how to use them

  • addressing difficulties with spelling, reading or writing

  • speaking with clear and correct pronunciation

Psychology

Child psychologists work with children and their families to support children’s emotional and social development, behaviour, wellbeing, learning and resilience, and assist in identifying and supporting early developmental or mental health concerns.

Psycho-educational assessments:

Occupational
Therapy

Our paediatric occupational therapists work with your child and your family. They are interested in supporting your child to readily engage in everyday activities including self-care, leisure/social and school and kinder

Occupational therapists can support your child in areas such as:

  • sensory processing

  • emotional regulation

  • fine motor and gross motor skills

  • attention, focus and organisation

  • advocacy

Occupational therapists can support your child through enhancing skills, modifying tasks and adapting environments.

We aim to work in collaboration with families, allied health and the education system to provide holistic, functional and impactful support

Home
Modifications

The SPOT centre is an approved NDIS home modification provider. We have team of Occupational Therapists who provide a specialty service in the assessment and prescription of minor and major home modifications. We ensure your environment is safe, comfortable, accommodates the use of your mobility equipment and is setup to help you thrive.

We are passionate about your safety, independence, and helping you to remain as active as possible. We can provide community-based services to assess your home environment, assistive technology and your functional needs.

Our qualified Occupational Therapists will:

  • Provide thorough home assessments and detailed recommendations regarding minor and major home modifications and access

  • Prescribe specialised assistive technology and education on its safe use

  • Provide strategies or alternate and efficient ways to perform your daily activities

  • Provide strategies to reduce the impact of your symptoms on your daily life

  • Provide consultation services and recommendations in the design of your new home or future residence

  • Provide advice on Home Automation systems and technology

  • Complete SDA and SIL applications

Our team can assess how you move around in your home and other community settings and make recommendations to improve your access and support your everyday independence and safety.  

We will work to Australian Standards in collaboration with you, local builders, project managers and/or architects to ensure the highest possible outcomes can be achieved. Our goal is to ensure that your, and your families, current and future needs can be comfortably met.
